While it is often overshadowed by its widely celebrated sibling and younger crowd skewing South Beach, Coconut Grove, or ?the Grove? as it?s often referred to by locals is arguably Lincoln Road without the ubiquitous and instantaneously recognizable name. The open air CocoWalk is a shopping mall and dining plaza with its own live entertainment and remains the cornerstone of Coconut Grove. The glitzy Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Avenue Villas and Grovernor House are three of several prominent condos in the city that each offer fine amenities like fitness clubs and huge pool decks designed to allow Coconut Grove residents to indulge and live affluently, giving residents more time to enjoy the area?s chic lifestyle. Street fairs and themed festivals are common throughout the area and are a wonderful complement to attractions like Vizcaya and the popular Miami Museum of Science. It may be one of the oldest communities in Miami, but Coconut Grove is just as stylish and is a welcome departure from the sometimes dizzying lifestyle and bustle of activity in South Beach. |
