While it’s come to represent a very popular area of Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas (“The Waves” in Spanish) refers to Las Olas Boulevard, a street that runs along the southeastern portion of Fort Lauderdale and leads to Fort Lauderdale Beach. The street is famed for being the home of a number of shops, entertainment, restaurants and cafes and functions as something of Broward County’s version of Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
Las Olas is famed for maintaining copious waterfront surroundings so the majority of Las Olas real estate is in many cases Las Olas homes overlooking the water or homes that are minutes from some kind of body of water.
