While it’s come to represent a very popular area of Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas (“The Waves” in Spanish) refers to Las Olas Boulevard, a street that runs along the southeastern portion of Fort Lauderdale and leads to Fort Lauderdale Beach. The street is famed for being the home of a number of shops, entertainment, restaurants and cafes and functions as something of Broward County’s version of Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
Las Olas is famed for maintaining copious waterfront surroundings so the majority of Las Olas real estate is in many cases Las Olas homes overlooking the water or homes that are minutes from some kind of body of water. The Coral Isles subdivision for example, has gorgeous four bedroom homes but there are larger Fort Lauderdale homes in Las Olas to choose from, often with features like boat docks, gourmet kitchens and more.
Besides offering a cornucopia of dining, shopping and entertainment, Las Olas is minutes from Fort Lauderdale Beach which means you get easy access to the Fort Lauderdale coastline no matter where you are. Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Galleria at Fort Lauderdale shopping mall, Art Bar, these are a only some of the places you can visit in and around Las Olas while remaining close to home.
