A 5,000 square foot nightclub with gourmet restaurant will be opened next year in the American Airlines Arena. Miami is known for its nightlife and Sam Nazarian, restaurantuer and hotelier, plans to open Hyde Nightclub in the American Airlines Arena. Nazarian is the owner of the Katsuya restaurants as well as SLS hotels and is planning these nightlife establishments all over the country. Hyde will feature gourmet dining, flat screen tvs, and lounge areas. This trend is in place at the Marlins Park with the Clevelander club behind the home plate. The Clevelander contains two 450 gallon aquariums and dining providing a more diverse experience than just hot dogs and beers. Danny Elmaleh chef at Cleo and Mercato di Vetro will supervise the menu and will be joined by a mixology team that will feature high end cocktails utilizing chili pepper and dry ice for an unforgettable experience.
The Hyde Club concept opened originally in LA at the Staples Center. The Staples Center has over 250 events a year and American Airlines Arena, which hosts a similar number, is looking to increase their revenue during other events as well. Nazarian and investors expect game goes to have a chance to enjoy the game and a taste of nightlife at the same time. Further, Nazarian is in talks with the LA Dodgers, Madison Square Garden, and Dallas Cowboys Stadium. While skeptics note that there is limited space in American Airlines Arena and speculate that existing vendors will be pushed out, there will always be those who prefer the original game experience. In any event this is a development that will surely make an impact on attendance. We speculate that the real estate in the Brickell Downtown and Biscayne corridor may see some increases from this.
